Best CAFES in Kuala Lumpur

Acme Bar & Coffee

Acme Bar & Coffee, situated within The Troika (just beside KLCC), is an award-winning eatery that’s well-loved for its extensive menu and chic yet casual setting. Resembling a New York City loft, the interior is a sleek combination of clean steel lines, comfy sofas, plush cushions and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, as well as jazz music playing softly in the background. Serving delicious and wholesome breakfast from starting from 09:30 all the way to 17:00, we highly recommend its salt beef Eggs Benedict (RM27) as well as the organic buckwheat pancakes (RM25). Drinks-wise, Acme Bar & Coffee offers a range of detox juices such as combinations of apple, carrot, celery and ginger, gourmet Tea Forte teas, and chocolate drinks.

Antipodean cafe

Antipodean Cafe, situated along Jalan Telawi in Bangsar, resembles a charming Spanish bistro with its large rust-orange tiles, glossy black wood furniture and Tuscan red walls. The extensive western and Asian-styled menu is scribbled with colourful chalk on a massive blackboard-style wall. Its all-day breakfast offerings allow diners to enjoy savoury treats such as smoked salmon omelette (RM20) while its fluffy banana pancake with butterscotch (RM16) is a great choice for those with a sweet tooth. A selection of cakes such as butter-free chocolate cake, carrot cake and lemon meringue pie is also available. For drinks, Antipodean Cafe serves various coffee and tea, milkshakes, and healthy fruit juices; we particularly enjoy the milky and robust café latte (RM8).

Red bean bag, Publika

The Red Beanbag, situated within Publika Mall in Solaris Dutamas, is a modern Australian-inspired cafe that serves up hearty all-day breakfasts and western delicacies. During weekend mornings, it is often fully-packed with youths and families so be sure to head there by 10:00 to avoid a long queue. French toast, eggs Benedict, and pancakes are served for breakfast while mains such as risottos, pastas and burgers are served from 12:00 onwards. Perfect for a brunch or dessert option, we highly recommend the Skyscraper (RM17), which consists of a stack of piping hot pancakes heavily drizzled with Canadian maple syrup and dark chocolate sauce, served with a side of caramelised fruits.

Opening Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 10:00 - 22:00, Friday 10:00 – 00:00, Saturday 09:30 – 00:00, Sunday 09:30 – 22:00

Plan B Cafe

Plan B Cafe is a coffee bar that looks very much like a modern, industrial-looking New York deli. Perfect for a mid-morning brunch, a quick business lunch or even a hearty dinner with family, the cafe has a great combination of rustic furnishings, good location, tantalising food, and unique style. While Plan B Cafe specialises in western food such as pastas, burgers, and sandwiches, Asian dishes like nasi lemak and Nyonya laksa are also available. Dessert-wise, our top picks include the sticky and sweet almond toffee bar as well as the apple crumble tart – the pastry simply crumbles in your mouth and the apple filling is sweet but sharp-tasting.

Opening Hours: Daily 08:00 – 01:00
Address: 65, GF, Bangsar Village 1, Jalan Telawi 1, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur
