KUIH KARAS

This is our next specialty in Kedah . Which is Kuih Karas!!!

A traditional confection made of rice flour. It is in the form of thin netting of strings similar to vermicelli but crunchy and is sweet in flavour.

Kuih Karas is made using liquid rice flour batter. The batter is passed through a special mould which is moved in a circular motion into hot oil, and deep-fried until golden brown. It is then lifted out and folded before it becomes cool and hard.
